Mental Health Awareness Brings Peace of Mind

Crystal Simmonds Licensed Mental Health Provider

Hello Families and Students,

My name is Crystal Simonds, I am a Licensed Mental Health Provider working for the school district however, I am not new to the district. I taught Pre-K for two years and I provided services to students and their families through a community mental health agency. I grew up in Pottawatomie County and graduated from Bethel High School and a graduate of the University of Central Oklahoma where I earned a Bachelor’s degree in Family Life Education/Child Development. I have a Master’s Degree in School Counseling with additional hours to become a licensed mental health provider.

These obstacles come in so many different shapes and sizes, especially for young children, and what may seem normal to you and me, may feel like a crisis to your child. This can include but is not limited to: financial setbacks, moving, family changes such as divorce or remarriage, job loss or gain, illness and death. These kinds of events can cause behavioral changes in children of all ages and It is my job to work with you to assure your child’s quick return to a typical developmental pattern. I do this through working with your student individually, in groups, and through collaboration with you and their teachers.

I offer short-term services that do not serve as a substitute for a formal mental health diagnosis from a community mental health or medical professional. Over the school year you will be receiving information and surveys related to your family, school, and community needs. These surveys will help us best determine what services the families of Earlsboro Public School need and want. Please feel free to contact me for more information. I am in and out of my office in the elementary building but feel free to leave a message or email me at csimonds@earlsboro.k12.ok.us.

Warmest wishes,

Crystal Simonds

EIS Questions

EIS questions typically refer to questions that help a mental health professional to detect concerns among students. Surveys are also used to help identify, prevent and intervene with mental health issues in an educational setting.
