Hello Students and Parents,
I believe that a strong partnership between home and school is essential for student success. We are committed to providing a nurturing and challenging learning environment, and your active participation in your child's education plays a vital role.
We believe that by working together, we can create a strong foundation for your child's academic and personal growth. Please do not hesitate to reach out to your child's teacher or the school office if you have any questions or need additional support. You can also use Parent Square to reach out to your child’s teachers. You can also communicate with teachers through email. Be sure to visit the faculty and staff page on the school website where you can access your child’s teachers’ email address.
Warm regards,
Gordon Elmore
Here are a few tips to help your child achieve their full potential:
- Set goals for learning: Set goals (daily, weekly, long-term). Encourage your child to ask questions when they don’t understand. Teach them to track their progress (use a planner). Reflect on what’s working and what’s not.
- Be consistent with Attendance & Punctuality: If your child is not here, they cannot learn. Aim for perfect attendance when possible. Arrive early-being on time builds discipline. Encourage your child to catch up promptly if they miss a class.
- Establish a consistent homework routine: Designate a quiet, well-lit space for homework and set a regular time for its completion. Encourage your child to review material regularly, not just before tests.
- Encourage reading: Read with your child daily, even for just 15-20 minutes. This helps develop vocabulary, comprehension, and a love of reading.
- Limit screen time: Set reasonable limits on television, video games, and other electronic devices, especially during study time.
- Celebrate effort and progress: Focus on your child's hard work and improvement, rather than just grades.
- Ensure adequate sleep and nutrition: A well-rested and nourished child is better able to focus and learn.
- Communicate with the teacher: Use ParentSquare to stay in regular contact with your child's teacher to discuss their progress, address any concerns, and collaborate on strategies to support their learning.
Message from the Head of School
Tim Gentry, Head of School
Dear Students,
As we continue this school year together, I want to remind you of the importance of being not just responsible learners, but self-aware individuals. Responsibility starts with awareness—of your actions, your choices, your impact on others, and your ability to grow.
Being responsible doesn’t just mean meeting deadlines or following rules. It means being honest with yourself about what you’re doing well and where you can improve. It’s about recognizing when you're focused—and when you're not. It's about taking ownership of your time, your mindset, and your behavior, even when no one is watching.
Self-awareness allows you to pause, reflect, and make better decisions. When you understand yourself—your strengths, your challenges, your habits—you become more empowered to take control of your learning and your life.
Every day is a new chance to take small steps forward. Take pride in those steps. Hold yourself to a high standard. And most importantly, be kind to yourself as you grow.
You are capable of so much. Let your actions reflect the person you are becoming.
With confidence in your journey,
Tim Gentry

- Use educational apps and resources purposefully.
Choose Friends Who Push You to Be Better
"Who you spend time with shapes who you become."
- Surround yourself with positive, driven peers.
- Avoid drama and distractions.
- Help each other stay accountable.
Take Care of Your Body & Mind
"You can’t pour from an empty cup."
- Sleep 7–9 hours a night.

Think Beyond Today
"Every decision moves you toward the person you're becoming."
- Explore your interests and possible career paths.
- Take advantage of school counselors and resources.
- Think about how your daily habits align with your future goals.

Message from the Special Education Director
Angie Terry, SPED Director
As the Director of Special Education, it is my privilege to support the diverse learning needs of students across our K–12 school community. At the heart of our work is a deep commitment to ensuring that every student—regardless of ability—has access to a meaningful, inclusive, and high-quality educational experience.
Our special education team works collaboratively with teachers, administrators, specialists, and families to provide individualized support that honors each student’s strengths and challenges. Through IEP development, targeted interventions, and inclusive practices, we strive to create a learning environment where all students can thrive academically, socially, and emotionally. We have a resource room in both the elementary and high school for individual and small group instruction.
We recognize that families are essential partners in this work. Your insight and involvement play a crucial role in shaping the success of your child’s educational journey. I encourage open communication and collaboration, and I invite you to reach out with questions, concerns, or ideas.
Thank you for entrusting us with your children. Together, we can build a school community that values equity, celebrates diversity, and fosters growth for every learner.
Warm regards,
Angie Terry
